Werner Reuber (1947) studied at the Düsseldorf Art Academy from 1970 to 1976 and is a master student of Prof. Gerhard Richter. He has been working as a freelance artist since 1977 and has thematized the multi-layered and multi-faceted relationships between men and women and various aspects of human existence in paintings, etchings and woodcuts in ever new variations. He was a founding member of the first Düsseldorf producers' gallery in 1976 (with Eckhard Dörr and Helmut Silbermann). Since 1982 he has worked with the artist group “Die Langheimer” (Robert Hartmann and Ulrike Zilly) and initiated various actions, exhibitions, artist books and films. In each of his artworks, there is first and foremost a miracle that is told through form, colors, shape and iconographic findings and references, and sometimes also the fact that it is the artwork itself that is the miracle.
