Experimentation and formatting - a tightrope walk between representationalism and abstraction.

Hubert Heinrich's artistic involvement with constructivism began in the early 1990s when he studied object design at the FH-Aachen.

Detached from entrenched patterns of perception, the artist set out in the footsteps of Bauhaus, Kandinsky, Malevich, and the Italian designer group Memphis.

First steps were the reduction to the square (picture squares) and the basic colors blue, red, yellow, black and white.

In further next steps, other different geometric shapes were included.

"Gehsteig", 2020   acrylic on canvas, 130.00 x 160.00 cm

Heinrich sees his art not as an imitation of Constructivism, but as a deepening of it.

His intention was and is "continuation and exploration", also an expansion of the possibilities that this offers.

Constructivism is not limited to its absolute abstraction, but also offers many new approaches and paths in representationalism and beyond.
