It needs time to explore the sweeping forms of the sculptures by Carola Eggeling from every angle. Carola Eggeling has deliberately chosen a non-representational mode of expression. Her sculptures are classically abstract and radiate elegance and power despite their apparent simplicity.

"In a new series of works, the artist has created contemporary sculptures that combine two classic design elements - the elegantly reduced forms typical of her oeuvre and the color gold with its manifold references and associations. Gold is an eternal symbol of value, permanence and timelessness, but also of splendor and pomp. For centuries, its noble aura has transformed every place and every room.

The combination of the volume of the material and the playful easiness of the fleeting forms consisting of lines, curbs and contours, between heavy material and the warm and golden colour provide for tension as well as for an harmonious whole."

Prof. Dr. Irene Daum, wissenschaft-kunst.de

Besides bronzes, plaster works are an important part of her artistic work. She works with a wire mesh that is covered with plaster and is thus transformed into a sculpture . Thus she discovers possibilities to make her own inner invisible world visible. Not only do her sculptures fill the space, they also create and describe it anew. Consequently the viewer is able to participate at an exciting play of volumes, surfaces, lines and spaces.

It is a particularly surprising characteristic of her plastic works, that they transit a totally different aspect depending on the eyes of the beholder. Consequently her works give way to a new discovery and interpretation. Depending on the individual perspective it frequently appears as if not only one but different sculptures are concerned. They then acquire most naturally form and volume.

Extending her classical white objects new calourful, young and fresh or cheeky wall objects were created during her present work cycle. They allow a new perspective of the artist’s work.
